PDP promises formal reaction to Onnoghen’s conviction by CCT
Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and major defender of former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) has reportedly promised to react formally to Thursday’s sacking of the Judge, Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan made this known on Thursday, according to a Vanguard’s report.
Onnoghen was finally sacked on Thursday by Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in a judgment by its Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, who also barred him from holding any public office for ten years in addition to forfeiture of cash in five accounts he failed to declare at the Code of Conduct Bureau.
“We will react formally, that’s for sure,” the PDP’s publicity secretary said, even as he reiterated the support of the party in the fight against corruption.
