Nigeria’s Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday, joined other world leaders for the G7 summit holding in Italy.

It would be recalled G7 leaders of world’s seven most industrially developed nations had been attracted to Nigeria with victory on March 28, 2015 presidential election of Muhammadu Buhari and subsequently made the Africa’s most celebrated anti-corruption leader to be part of their last major deliberations in Berlin, Germany.

Osinbajo’s invitation as Acting President to yet another deliberations of the seven most powerful world leaders may be in continuation of recognition of the new place that Nigeria now occupies as a nation with zero tolerance for corruption and impunity.

G7 member states are Italy, France, Canada, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, United States and the European Union.

Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, via Twitter that he left Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday, said Osinbajo attended the 43rd summit of the G7 based on an invitation extended to him.

Also invited to the summit are Hailemariam Desailegn of Ethiopia, Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and Beji Essebsi of Tunisia.
