ORTOM BOLT: A security analysis…

By CHARLES CHIDI ACHODO

Going by the details made public about Governor Samuel Ortom’s alleged encounter with gunmen, it is critical to note the following from an established security perspective:

1) there is no way the governor would go to his farm without an advance security details to clear the area.

2) The security details consist of those who do intelligence and those who rescue and those who attack in the event of an assault

2) The intelligence team would have done their job. If they didn’t and declare the place safe, the governor won’t be allowed to go there.

3) if there is an attack, the rescue team will whisk the governor away. In fact they carry him. He is never allowed to run. That’s the job of close protect squad.

4) The assault team will engage the attackers and if necessary neutralise them or kill them. They don’t let them go so long as they are identified targets. This enables and facilitates investigation.

Now weigh this information against the background of the story contained therein. Your governor like Rochas can’t even walk a km let alone run 1.5km and recollect exactly the distance. I have my doubt about that. If he did that I will go register for Olympic games

Thirdly there is no independent eyewitness collaborating the narrative from the governor and his office.

Fourthly since they didn’t kill or capture any of the attackers how then did they know they were Fulani herdsmen?

He concluded and even stated for sure that there was a meeting held where he was singled out for assassination.

Well if so and if it is an intelligence report, why didn’t he report this to the police commissioner and appropriate authorities? And why embark on such farm inspection against the background of such intelligence?

To question narrative that are very serious isn’t being frivolous. We take these things very serious. If I were the Federal government I will constitute a high powered commission of investigation on this matter.
