*Speaks on why he doesn’t respond to them

“No matter how a country loves its leader, there will naturally be those that the Good Book calls “filthy dreamers” who “despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” That is why as spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari, I never respond to such people. Their type would always be around.

For them who run mouths and engage desperate and devilish activities, starting from pre and after President Muhammadu Buhari had won election and sworn in as elected President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, very soon they will come out of it and say to President Muhammadu Buhari “we are sorry for our long time of evils and desperations against you”, it seems to be the interpretation of an sentence in an article by Mr. Femi Adesina, who is Special Adviser to President on Media and Publicity, titled, “PMB and the descendants of Shimei”.

Starting with a popular adage, “There is nothing new under the sun”, the Adesina’s article seeks to point to the world the true identification of people who, despite many good things they see which they may even benefit from, must rather than appreciating God for his mercy over the good things coming choose to toe the evil part.  He described such class of people as of “filthy dreamers”.

He said, “From time immemorial, some people have spoken evil of leadership, cast aspersions on them, and generally portrayed themselves as scum of the earth,” adding that, “No matter how a country loves its leader, there will naturally be those that the Good Book calls “filthy dreamers” who “despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” That is why as spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari, I never respond to such people. Their type would always be around.”

Femi Adesina, ever appreciated by President Muhammadu Buhari for his loyalty and ability hold away against the mischief makers, continued by pointing out to people he described as a pack of “shallowness, vacuousness and hollowness” to realise that the President is not God that would never fall sick and challenged those that have wished the President dead or have been carrying rumours about his health status come out to tell if they are 100 percent healthy.

“President Buhari has been indisposed since the beginning of the year. It is human, and presidents, despite their elevated status, remain human. If there is anybody who considers himself 100 percent healthy, or who bears what William Shakespeare calls “a charmed life,” let that person stand up to be identified.

“All mortals are doomed to sickness, they can recover, and they can die. That is the truth that has been internalised by millions of people praying for the recovery of our President. And that is where the shallowness, vacuousness, and hollowness of people who wish the President dead, and carry unfounded rumours, is on stark display. Filthy dreamers. They speak evil of dignities, and despise dominion. But we forgive them, for they know not what they do. When President Buhari returns (as God would make him do) where would they hide their faces? In shame,” the former Managing Director of SUN Newspapers Limited and until his appointment by Buhari President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Adesina, said in the article.

He started the main body of the article, “Buhari and descendants of Shimei”, with a question, “Who is Shimei?”

“Now, I started by saying we would always have scumbags around. It is inevitable. They are the descendants of Shimei, the son of Gera, whom I want to introduce to you now.

“Who is Shimei? Well, I met him on the pages of the Good Book, and he bears striking similitude to some people in our country today. The evil wishers, the hate mongers, and those who spend their days conjecturing tragedy for leadership.”

Femi Adesina’s article came at a time a respondent of The DEFENDER had told Nigerians not to worry about the evil mongers who he listed to include the Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, PDP’s Pastor Femi Fani-Kayode and other even those appearing in the face of APC but have been acting the scripts of PDP either from the National Assembly or as chieftains of the governing party.

He warned some disloyal APC chieftains and lawmakers to be wary of waging war against President Muhammadu Buhari through support for outsiders who have good days casting aspersions over his health status, positing that the likes of Fayose and Fani-Kayode could not have successfully engaged themselves “in the self-destructive” effort that they have been popular for if not that they have assurance of some insiders within the APC.

He told Nigerians to generally have confidence that, “No matter the storm, a deep rooted Iroko will never fall.  So, leave whoever is scheming to his scheming.  All I know is that, no matter what anybody does, all of them put together, they cannot take the government of President Muhammadu Buhari from him until he decides either to leave by not reconsting in 2019 or otherwise,” he said.
