*Hails Akeredolu for living up to expectation

The traditional rulers in Ondo State, on Tuesday, congratulated the winner of February 25, 2023 presidential election, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on what it said was a well deserved electoral victory.

Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, Dr Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, made the congratulatory message in a statement sent to The DEFENDER Tuesday evening.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, who is also the Deji of Akure, described the victory of Tinubu, who has since been declared President-elect, as a victory for Nigerians and Nigeria.

In the statement, signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji, Michael Adeyeye, Oba Aladetoyinbo also hailed the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for living up to expectation.

“The Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas and the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR has congratulated the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the Ondo State Obas in a statement released on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akure, Mr Michael Adeyeye, the Ondo State Obas described the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as well deserved considering the fact that the election was keenly contested as this was reflected in the pattern of votes across the country.

“Oba Aladetoyinbo described the victory of the President-elect as a victory for Nigerians and indeed a renewed hope that Nigerians can keep conventional promise of a rotational presidency which is a reflection of fairness, equity and justice, Adeyeye said.

According to the Deji, “Your track records and credentials of progressivism, patriotism and commitment to democratic tenets over the years is a sound and clear testimony of your proven capacity as a nationalist to lead our nation to economic recovery and make it the true giant of Africa and the pride of the black race.”

Oba Aladetoyinbo urged the President-elect to live up to the expectation of his renewed hope mantra by renewing the hope of every Nigerians who had almost gave up on Nigeria. This is evident in the mass exodus of our youths and Professionals in search of a greener pasture.

The monarch urged the president to re-unite every Nigerians who had been sharply divided along tribal and religious sentiments.

He added that, “There is no doubt that our nation is faced with myriads of challenges, however, there is a renewed faith in the capacity of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to bring positive development to the Country.”

Meanwhile, the Deji of Akure has hailed the Governor Akeredolu for his resilience and commitment to democracy and the welfare of the people of Ondo State.

He described the ‘talk-and-do’ Governor as a man of integrity, who will always keep to his words even in the face of adversity and uncertainty.

Oba Aladetoyinbo prayed for God’s guidance for the President-elect as the nation looks forward to a better days ahead under his incoming administration.
