Ologbondiyan faults Tinubu over Minna deaths, Niger kidnappings

The Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the National Chairman of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over the recent deaths of 37 persons in Minna, Niger State, and the reported abduction of hundreds of people in the state.
Ologbondiyan, in a statement, said the past 72 hours had witnessed what he described as a disturbing security situation in Niger State.
According to him, “No fewer than 37 souls were lost in the course of security management of Nigerians who were in search of their livelihood, legally or illegally.”
He linked the development to reports of the alleged kidnapping of no fewer than 500 persons in and around Dekara, Niger State.
Ologbondiyan said what should concern Nigerians, apart from the loss of lives and alleged abductions, was the response of the President as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
He recalled Tinubu’s pre-May 29, 2023 promise that he would “lead from the front lines and not the rear.”
The former PDP spokesman expressed concern that while Nigerians were being killed and abducted, Tinubu was away in Europe.

Ologbondiyan urged those hosting the President in Europe to encourage him to return to Nigeria and address the security challenges confronting the country.
“The time has come for the @officialABAT hosts in Europe to advise him to begin a homeward journey where the enormous challenges are waiting to be solved,” he said.
