*Say he never responds to correspondence from them

The Legislative Council of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Lagos Friday morning, described the response of the Chairman, Hon. Julius Oloro to its impeachment notice as laughable and unfortunate.

Oloro had earlier told journalists at a press conference at the council secretariat in Oke Ira that the Impeachment notice served on him by the councillors was politically motivated.

Responding to this on Friday, the councillors described the Council Chairman’s response as “laughable, unfortunate and begging the issue”.

The Legislators led by the Leader of the Council, Hon. Wasiu Seidu; with the other five members: the Deputy Leader, Hon. Olatunji Kogbodoku; the Majority Leader, Hon. Olumide Akinade; the Chief Whip, Hon. Gbenga Opebi; the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Iyanda Kazeem; and the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Jemilat Badiru reiterated that, the Chairman rather than responding to the issues raised resorted to blackmail by claiming that the action was “politically motivated”.

“The chairman only responded to one of the many allegations in our notice, that of the properties acquired illegally.

“He however failed to react to our demand for details of what the huge funds which accrued to the LCDA since 2017 were spent on.

“We reiterate that the infrastructure development of the council area is not commensurate with funds received since 2017,” Seidu said while speaking to journalists at the weekend.

The Ojodu LCDA Leader stated that since the inception of the present administration in the council, Oloro has not responded to any correspondence from the councillors.

The Councillors admitted they had in defference to the intervention of the leaders of the party decided to sheath their swords and wondered why the Chairman would grant such an interview that suggested the lawmakers lied against him.

“We condemn in strong terms Hon. Oloro’s insinuations that our action was politically motivated. In actual fact he is not a political threat to any one within our LCDA.
We stand by the allegations and are ready to provide proof when the need arises if he prefers we go that route again,” the councillors vowed.
