Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Charles Adam ‘m’ 39year old for impersonating a military officer.

The suspect who dressed in full military camouflage uniform, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, was arrested on the 24th of October, 2018 by Police patrol team from Redeemed Camp Division along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“Trouble started for the fake military man when an operational vehicle of the Nigerian Army was passing and the suspect started running away in military uniform. This aroused the suspicious of the Police patrol team who saw the action of the suspect as a strange occurrence. The Policemen subsequently gave him a hot chase and got him apprehended.

“He was taken before the DPO Redeem Division Csp Olaiya Martins who thoroughly interrogated him. Consequence upon which he confessed been a fake soldier. He further confessed using the uniform to escort vehicles and other illegal military duties.

“The DPO quickly ordered for a search warrant to be executed in his house and the following items was recovered from him: 1.    Two military Green trousers; 2.    One green belt; 3.    One green cardigan; 4.    One military green beret cap; 5.    One military face-cap; 6.    One green mask; 7.    One military bout; 8.    One military havasack, also five different identity cards with his passport photograph and some military related documents.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) for discreet investigation.
