The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has conferred its much talked-about 2024 Academic and Research Excellence Award, at an occasion well attended by his Ifetedo people, led by his monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba (Barrister) Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, Latiri I, the Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom.
Others, who attended the event, included a delegation of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), led by its Executive Secretary/CEO, Professor Muslih Yahya.
It was an atmosphere filled with all sense of excitements as, in the case of Professor Yusuf Ali (SAN), the mantra of ‘prophets are not loved in their own country’ vividly turned the other way round on Tuesday July 30, 2024 when the Professor of Law – described as professionally sound law leader by Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, former Minister of Communucations – was celebrated by his own people at Ile-Ife, Osun State, his country’s home state.
Ahead of the event, a message published Obafemi Awolowo University’s website called OAU Gallery, made glowing tribute to him.
“Obafemi Awolowo University is proud to announce the recipient of this year’s Excellence in Research Award: Yusuf Ali.
“A distinguished scholar and esteemed member of our academic community, Yusuf Ali’s contributions to research have left an indelible mark on our institution and beyond.
