The National Sports Festival, which officially kicked off two weeks ago at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State capital, finally ended on Saturday December 10, 2022, with Delta State emerging winner of the 21st National Sports Festival.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Delta won 320 gold, 200 silver, and 128 bronze medals to ahead of 35 other states and the Federal Capital Territory, to stay atop the Nigerian apex sports fiesta.
Prince Ned Nwoko, a sport enthusiast and the Chancellor of Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko in the state, was live at the 2022 National Sports Festival grand finale with his actress wife, Mrs Regina Daniels Nwoko, to support Team Delta.
Both husband and wife looked dazzling and sporty in their Team Delta outfit.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Sports, Sunday Akin Dare, commended Prince Ned Nwoko, who is also the Delta North Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Senatorial Candidate, for his huge investments in the development of sports with the establishment of the Sports University in his hometown, Idumuje Ugboko.
