NSCDC Zamfara Command intercepts suspected rustled cows

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command has intercepted two truck loads of cows suspected to be rustled by miscreants from Tsafe Local Government Area, enrout Damba area, suburb of Gusau metro.

Briefing news men at the state command headquarters in Gusau, the State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Sani Mustapha, averred that in his resilient efforts to purge the state of all manner of criminality, the Corps has intercepted two truck loads of cows numbering 24 and one sheep on their way from Tsafe Local Government Area to Gusau metro.

According to a press release issued by the command’s public relations officer, Ikor Oche,the security consummate opined that, the suspects who wanted to smuggle the cows to Gusau at night cover decided to off load the cows at Damba Area, a suburb of Gusau at about 7pm on the 31st December 2023.

Working on intelligence reports, the Corps confronted the suspects and on sighting the officers they took to their heels. The cows were conveyed two canter trucks with plate numbers TSF 329 SA Zamfara and AG 160 BW Abuja respectively.

Commandant Sani Mustapha said the Cows has been handed over to the Ministry for Security and Home affairs.

The State NSCDC Boss, Sani Mustapha however warned all criminal elements to desist from anything that contravenes the administrative policies of the state Executive Governor Dr Lawal Dauda in the fight against insecurity in the state.

You may recall that the State Government had banned the sale of cows in some Local Government Areas including Tsafe Local Government Area where these cows were suspected to have been conveyed from.
