NSA, Acting IGP, hold emergency meeting with governors

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Adamu, and the National Security Adviser, Lt. General Babagana Monguno, will be meeting with the members of the Nigeria Governors Forum today in Abuja, at 12pm.

As at the time of filing this report, both the acting IGP and the NSA are on ground and some of the governors are already arriving the venue of the meeting.

It is unclear what they will be discussing but recent concerns by the NSA and the Minister of Interior indicates the proliferation of small arms and light weapons will top the agenda.

The senior government officials alleged that politicians were stockpiling weapons ahead of the elections.
