The Ijaw Youth Council (IJC) Central Zone, Bayelsa State has revealed that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had scheduled to hold its meeting in the state tomorrow, Sunday, January 18, 2020.

Chairman of the council, Comr Kennedy Olorogun, therefore warned the said group to distance its meeting from Bayelsa State, stating holding it as planned is a threat to Ijaw people.

The IJC warned in a statement on Saturday signed by Comr. Kockman Kurobo, nformation Information Officer of IYC Central Zone.

It seized the statement to alert security agents to be aware of the development and the threat of such meeting to the Ijaw nation.

“Comr. Olorogun uses this medium call on security apparatus in the State to be aware of these information, for any Biafra group caught holding meeting anywhere in Bayelsa State will be tagged as a deliberate attempt to fight the Ijaw people in their house, and we (Ijaws) will not tolerate that but will stand to defend our territory with anything.

“IYC also called on the peace loving Igbo residents in Bayelsa State to warn their brothers who are trying to cause crisis in Bayelsa State all in the name of IPOB, for anyone caught will be properly BEATEN-UP.

“He equally urges Ijaw people to be vigilant and pass information should in case they notice such meeting any day or anywhere in Bayelsa State”, the statement said.

IPOB, whose leader Nnamdi Kanu is still on the run after jumping bail after he was granted relieve on health ground, stands proscribed as terrorist organisation as declared by a Nigerian court.
