*Results received from Gombe, Jigawa, Ademawa, Katsina

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), at the International Conference Centre, Abuja continued on Monday to receive Saturday presidential election results from across the country, collated results from Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, Yobe and Enugu have been received and announced.

In Yobe, North East Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has won the presidential election with 198,567 votes while All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 151,459 votes and Labour Party (LP)’s Dr. Peter Obi got 2,406 votes.

In the meantime, the presidential election results from Kwara, Oyo and Ogun states showed that All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won with 263,572; 449,884 and 341,554 votes respectively, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 136,909; 182,977 and 123,831 respectively.

Also in Kwara, Oyo and Ogun states, Labour Party (LP)’s presidential candidate Dr. Peter Obi polled 31,166; 99,110 and 85,829 respectively.

In Enugu State, LP’s Peter Obi won the presidential election with 428,640 while PDP’s Atiku Abubakar polled 15,749 and APC and NNPP had 4,772 and 1,808 respectively.

Also received on Monday were results from four states of Gombe, Jigawa, Adamawa and Katsina.

In Gombe, PDP’s Atiku win with PDP: 319,123 votes, while APC’s Tinubu came second with 146,977 votes, LP’s Obi came third with 26,160 and NNPP’s Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso came fourth with 10,520.

In Jigawa State, APC’s Tinubu won with 421,390 votes as PDP’s Atiku scored 386,587 votes, NNPP’s Kwankwaso came third with 98,234 votes while LP’s Obi settled in distant fourth position with 1,889 votes.

In Adamawa, PDP’s Atiku home base, he won with PDP: 417,611 votes to make APC settle for second position with 182,881 votes, LP’s Obi came third with surprising 105,648 votes and NNPP’s Kwankwaso came fourth with 8,006 votes.

In the same vein, results from Katsina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state showed PDP’s Atiku triumph with 489,045votes, followed by APC’s Tinubu garnering 482,283 votes, NNPP’s Kwankwaso scoring 69,386 votes and LP’s Obi settling for third position with 6,376 votes.

Ekiti

Recalls that The DEFENDER had earlier reported on Sunday following the first announcement by INEC in Abuja that All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won in Ekiti with 201,494 votes, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 89,554 votes and Labour Party (LP)’s presidential candidate, Dr. Peter Obi polled 11,397 votes.

In the Sunday evening only election results announced so far, Social Democratic Party (SDP) came third with 2,011 votes, Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came fourth with 460 votes, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) came fifth with 268, pushing the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the sixth position with 264. These results of Ekiti were as presented by the INEC Returning Officer for the Ekiti State, Professor Hakeem Lasisi, who is Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ire, Osun State.

Ondo

Also in Ondo State, we reported earlier on Sunday that the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, defeated the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Abubarka Atiku with 246,477 votes in the election held last Saturday.

Tinubu cleared all the 18 council areas of the state, polling 369,924 votes as against Atiku’s 115,463 votes.

Osun

From the 2023 Presidential Election Collation Centre at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, also, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had collated results from Osun State with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, emerging the candidate with the highest number of votes from presidential election in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer for Osun State, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, presented this in Abuja on Monday.

According to Professor Ogunsola, who is Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, the PDP polled 354,366 votes to lead the race in the state while All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu came second with 343,945 votes to push Labour Party (LP)’s Dr. Peter Obi to a distant third position with 23,283 votes.

The DEFENDER reports that the results, which had earlier been collated and announced at the Osogbo state collation centre on Sundday, was transmitted to the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja in line with the requirements of the Electoral Act.
