A yet another fake news about activities of President Muhammadu Buhari has been busted, as Presidency says the Nigerian Leader is Abuja and not in London.

A news report had been published by some online newspapers (excluding The DEFENDER), on Saturday, that President Buhari had embarked on another vacation to the United Kingdom, just a month after he visited the country for a two-week medical session.

But in a Tweet on Saturday, the Personal Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmad, debunked the report, saying that President Buhari was in Abuja and not planning any trip to London.

“The news going round that President Muhammadu Buhari has embarked on a 20-day vacation trip to London is FAKE. The President is in Abuja and he is not planning to embark on any trip to London,” Ahmad said.

Our nose-on-the-ground check, however, revealed possible link with the fake news in order to discredit the President and his party from being morally qualified to produce the next President of the country.

Further probe, our source said, “Authors and sponsors or architects of the unfortunate report, as well as the media platforms that went ahead to publish or broadcast the report, know what they are doing. They knew how information about President’s travel come to them and for them to take such news and circulate it is to sense mischief, consequences of which they, themselves, cannot be able to withstand when it comes.

“In my own opinion, I must tell you this and I hope the intelligence agencies would be interested in getting to the root of this yet another fake news, is that it the report has connection with the resurgent terrorist attacks that the nation has witnessed in the North West, North Central and South East.

“The idea after the train attacks, Dangote Refinery Lagos attack and few others that some short memory people have bought over to reign unkind words questioning the competency of the President and the security forces, is to make the President insensitive to the people who will in less than 12 months be going to poll to between candidate of his party and those of others,” he said.
