Foremost Islamic organization, Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT) yesterday appointed Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Onike as the substantive Chief Missioner of the organization.

Onike who has been acting as the Chief Missioner six months ago following the resignation of the former Missioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Akinbode had his appointment ratified on Sundayby the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the society.

The BOT which is the highest decision making organ of the society announced the substantive appointment of Onike after a meeting held at its headquarters in Alausa.

At the meeting was the governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregesola who is also a member of the BOT.

Incidentally, he was also in attendance when the former Chief Missioner was also appointed.

It was learnt that Akinbode resigned six months ago following a minor disagreement over tenure while he has gone to form another society.

Onike who was the Deputy Chief Missioner before the exit of Akinbode has been in the society from inception. The BOT had earlier advertised for the position before the BOT found him worthy of taking over as the Chief Missioner of the organization.

Meanwhile, the society has condoled the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the death of his son, Mr Kazeem Jide Tinubu.

In a condolence message by its publicity Secretary, Alhaji Banji Busari, the President of NASFAT, Engr. Kamil Yomi Bolarinwa stated that “the news of the death of Mr. Jide Tinubu was received with great shock and grief by the society”.

Bolarinwa said, “As a society, we share in your grief and will dedicate our individual and collective prayers for Allah to give you the strength to bear the irreparable loss while we pray to Allah to grant the deceased Aljanat Firdaous”.
