Naira appreciates by N10 against dollar, closes at N1,280/$1 Friday

The exchange rate for Naira in the parallel market for Friday, October 27, 2023, as confirmed by Bureau de Change operators, showed US dollar closed buying for N1,280.00 against N1,290.00 the previous day and selling for N1,290.00 against N1,300.00 in Abuja and Lagos.

As of Thursday October 26, Central Bank of Nigeria’s official exchange rate of Naira to dollar closed buying for N798.736, Central Bankof Nigeria N799.236 and selling N799.736.

The development was coming barely 24 hours after the Supreme Court affirmed President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

Earlier, the Finance Minister, Wale Edun, had disclosed that the country would soon receive an inflow of $10 billion in foreign currency to mitigate the forex crisis.

ABUJA

In nother survey of Abuja black market on Friday October 27, US Dollar closed buying for N1,280.00 and Selling for N1,290.00.

The DEFENDER reports that Euro in the same vein closed Friday buying for N1,300.00 and selling for N1,320.00.

Also, Pounds Sterling closed Buying for N1505.00 while selling for N1520.00.

In Lagos on Friday October 27, 2023, dollar exchanged buying for N1,280.00 and selling for N1,300.00.

Euro closed buying for N 1,300.00 and selling for N1,330.00. Pounds Sterling buying for N1510.00 and selling for N1525.00

On Thursday US dollar exchanged buying for N1,290.00 and selling for N1,300.00; Euro buying N1,310.00 and selling N1,330.00; Pounds Sterling buying 1500.00 and N1525.00.

As of Thursday October 26, official rate Dollar closed buying for N798.736, central N799.236 and selling N799.736.

Pounds Sterling buying N 968.3875 central N968.9937 and selling N969.5999.

Euro buying N842.6665 central N843.194 and selling N843.7215.
