The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO), Ondo State Chapter, has sent its sent its message felicitating the Muslims of the state in particular and all over the country as they usher in the New Hijrah Year of 1442AH.

According to a press statement issued in Akure, the Ondo State capital by its state Coordinator, Alhaji Yekini Alli, NACOMYO, giving all adorations to Almighty Allah for his mercy through the out-gone 1441AH, the council implored the Islamic faithful to continue to be law-abiding and peaceful in their various conducts.

“We shouldn’t forget that COVID-19 is still much active in Nigeria as a whole, so for this reason we must continue to abide by rules and regulations of health authorities as regards the pandemic.

“This is very important because the earlier it leaves us, the earlier we go back to our normal life. Our major religious activities had suffered seriously because of this coronavirus.”

Alli seized the opportunity of the release to urge peace as the state goes to poll to elect its next governor in October.

“No stone should be left unturned in maintaining peace and tranquility before, during and after the election.

“We should do away with inflammatory statements capable of hitting up the polity. Our children and youths at large should be discouraged from political hooliganism, brigandage and sabotage.

“All hands must be on deck to sustain our peace, it is in doing this that we can expect prosperity for ourselves as well as for our state.”

He also charged the security agencies to be more proactive “especially during this election period. Flash points should be identified as quickly as possible with the intention of proper and adequate monitoring.

“Also, the security forces should try to be as neutral as possible so as not to leave any room for suspicion from any candidate or party that may feel offended or perceive foul play.

“In addition, this council is imploring the electoral umpire, the INEC, to be up to the task ahead of them. Organizing a free and fair election is the primary assignment of INEC, and they must not fail in this. Level playing ground should be created for all the contestants and their parties. This is important because it is major key in guaranteeing peace before, during and after election.

“Lastly, this council gives kudos to the federal government for her concern over the massive unemployment rate among the youths. This has prompted for the flagging of 1000 jobs per local government activities. On this note, the council is calling on all that will be involved in the selection process to be God-fearing and patriotic. Attention should be given to those youths who are seriously in need. Spreading the opportunity across board will go a long way in stemming down the unemployment crisis in the country.

“As the years are rolling in and rolling out, so does the end of everybody is getting nearer. Therefore, we should be straight-forward and not do anything that can hurt our fellow human beings. We pray unto Allah to grant our state and the country at large peace and prosperity. Amin,” Alhaji Yekini Alli prayed.
