The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) Abuja chapter will on Monday holds its 11th annual public lecture on good governance in Abuja.
Chairman of the organisation Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun said in a statement on Saturday that the lecture was to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Mawlud Nabiyy) which coincides with Monday December 12 and has been declared a public holiday by the Federal Government.
He said the lecture titled, “The Islamic position on good governance” would be held at National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja and would be delivered by an Abuja-based Islamic scholar and Chief Imam of the Nigerian Navy, Shaykh Taofiq Miqdad Gidado.
Other guests expected were said to be Alhaji Abubakar Jijiwa, former Director-General Voice of Nigeria (VON) as Chairman, Dr. Garba Abari Director-General National Orientation Agency (NOA), and FCT Minister Alhaji Muhammad Bello as Chief Host while Ministers of Communications, Education, Information and Culture and Women Affairs are also expected.
The Secretary-General Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, head of Media establishments among other dignitaries and Islamic groups are also expected at the lecture.
