The city of Rubezhnoye has been almost completely liberated, a mop-up operation continues on its outskirts, Advisor to the head of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Rodion Miroshnik told the Soloviev Live TV channel on Thursday.
“We can say for sure that Rubezhnoye has been cleared. A mop-up operation continues on its outskirts,” he said.
Miroshnik specified that LPR forces had earlier completed a mop-up operation in the city of Kremennaya.
Chechnya’s head Ramzan Kadyrov said on April 20 that Rubezhnoye had come under the control of Russian forces. According to him, Russian troops, the LPR militia and the Akhmat special rapid response unit took part in an operation to liberate the city.
