Matriarch of the family of Kola Animasaun, the late Journalism icon and former Chairman, Editorial Board of Vanguard Newspapers, Alhaja Modupe Siliphat Animasaun, has sent a congratulatory message to former Governor of Lagos and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who clocked 70 Tuesday March 29, 2022.

The Iya Musulumi of Aiyede Ekiti, who was speaking publicly for the first time since she lost her husband on May 30, 2019 and her younger cousin former Oyo State Governor Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi in July 2020, described Tinubu as “a sincere lover of people particularly the Kola Animasaun family,” and prayed that Allah would continue to strengthen and protect him against all evils, especially as he now joins the group of septuagenarians.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu respected my husband, Alhaji Kola Animasaun, to his face during his life time and even after his death, I have received his messages and encouragements. It is worth, therefore, to accept that such a man, who is friend not only to the face but has continued to be friend even behind the back of the late Journalist, deserves to be well appreciated on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary,” Alhaja Modupe Animasaun said in an exclusive message made available to The DEFENDER in Lagos on Tuesday.

The DEFENDER reports that Tinubu had, characteristically, cancelled the 13th Birthday Colloquium organised in his honour to celebration his 70th birthday anniversary in Lagos on Tuesday, saying the cancellation was to honour victims of Abuja-Kaduna train terrorist attack that happened night of Monday March 28, 2022.

He made the announcement at Eko Hotels and Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos, the venue of the event with the theme, ‘Pivoting Nigeria Into The New Order’, describing the attack as a “national tragedy” where several lives were lost to the terror.
