A new twist is apparently in the offing concerning the disappearance, re-appearance, reinstatement and promotion of Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman on Pension Reforms Task Team.

This is because the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami has denied issuing any letter to Maina’s reinstatement as a Deputy-Director in the Ministry of Interior.

But the Head of Service of the federation, Mrs Winfred Oyo Ita has insisted that there was a letter from the AGF to the Federal Civil Service Commission directing Maina’s reinstatement.

Similarly, the Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdularaman Danbazzua dissociated himself and his ministry from Miana’s entire saga, saying that “the Ministry had no hand in the matter”.

This came as Maina himself said that he was never sacked any government, adding that assignments were still being given to him to execute for the federal government even as at last month.

He however made the revelation through his counsel, Mr. Muhammadu Katu.

The testimonies were made at a public hearing on the “Disappearance, Re-appearance, reinstatement and promotion of Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman on Pension Reforms Task Team”, by an Adhoc Committee of the House of Representative on Thursday.

The hearing is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report. (Vanguard)
