Nigeria’s Information Minister mourns Nollywood actress Moji Olaiya, Channels TV reporter Chukwuma

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has described the sudden demise of popular actress Moji Olaiya as a big loss to the entertainment industry in Nigeria.
In a statement issued from Beijing, China on Thursday copy of which was made available to The DEFENDER, the Minister said he received the news of Moji’s untimely death with rude shock and disbelief.
He said that the contributions of the late actress to the growth of the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, would never be forgotten.
He further prayed for the repose of the departed soul and also for strength and comfort to her family and friends.
In the same vein, Alhaji Lai Mohammed also condoled with the family of late Chukwuma Onuekwusi, Channels Television’s State House correspondent, who passed on during the week.
In another statement issued from Beijing, China, on Thursday which was also made available to the DEFENDER, the Minister expressed shocked and sadness at his death, saying his memory of the late Onuekwusi, during his regular interactions with State House Correspondents, remained that of a passionate professional and a gentleman, who contributed so much to the high ratings of Channels TV.
He extended his condolences also to the management and staff of Channels TV as well as the entire State House Correspondents for the untimely demise of the brilliant journalist.
Alhaji Mohammed prayed that God would strengthen the immediate and extended family of the late journalist, and also grant repose to the soul of the departed.
