Lagos Police, in major outing, nab 11 One-Chance specialists in Lagos

The Police in Lagos State, furtherance to their effort at stamping criminality out of the Centre of Excellence, have achieved a major success nabbing eleven suspected members of different gangs that specialized in robbing passengers using fake commercial buses, known as Once Chance, within Lagos metropolis.

The arrested criminals were found with 50 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards suspected to have been stolen from their victims during some of their successful outings until they found their waterloo with the operatives of Lagos State Police Command recently.

The items have been recovered from them, according to a release by Police in the state.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects made withdrawals with their victims’ ATM cards, while they transferred close to N1 million from victims’ accounts to their accomplices’ bank accounts.

One of the gangs, made up of eight members, according to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, dispossessed one Mr. Fred Ubak of his valuables.

They were said to have transferred N820,000 into five other banks, from where the amount was withdrawn.
