The Community particularly celebrated the three Muslim appointees: Dr. Olawale Mahadiyu Adegbite; Mr. Adebayo Mubashiru Haroun; and Mrs. Bilquees Toyin Adekoya, Principal/Director of Education, Education District VI.

The Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS) warmly congratulates the six newly appointed Permanent Secretaries by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, describing their appointments as a call to greater responsibility, dedicated service and commitment to the development of Lagos State.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Hon. Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, President Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS), and Alhaji Jubril Folami, the MCLS Public Relations Officer, copy of which was set to The DEFENDER on Thursday October 15, 2026.

The Community particularly celebrated the three Muslim appointees: Dr. Olawale Mahadiyu Adegbite; Mr. Adebayo Mubashiru Haroun; and Mrs. Bilquees Toyin Adekoya, Principal/Director of Education, Education District VI.

“Their appointments are a source of encouragement to the Muslim community and an opportunity to demonstrate the values of professionalism, justice, accountability and service to humanity.

“While congratulating all six appointees, the Muslim Community of Lagos State urges them to regard their new positions not merely as achievements or marks of professional distinction, but as a sacred trust that demands diligence, fairness, humility and an unwavering commitment to the public good.

“The Community especially calls on the Muslim appointees to fear Allah in the discharge of their responsibilities, remembering that public office is an Amanah (trust) for which every individual will ultimately be accountable before Almighty Allah.

“They are encouraged to allow the principles of Islam—justice, honesty, compassion, transparency and accountability—to guide their decisions and interactions with the people they serve.

“The Qur’an states: “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice.” — Qur’an 4:58

“This divine injunction serves as a timely reminder that leadership must be exercised with integrity and that the privileges of public office must always be matched by a sincere commitment to the welfare of the people.

“The Community further urges the appointees to bring their experience, expertise and administrative competence to bear on their respective assignments, promote efficiency in public service, support policies that improve the lives of Lagos residents, and treat all citizens fairly, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or social standing.

“The Muslim Community of Lagos State also encourages all six Permanent Secretaries to work collaboratively with their colleagues, uphold the highest standards of public service, and contribute meaningfully to the administration’s efforts to improve governance and service delivery across Lagos State.

“The Community prays that Almighty Allah grants the appointees wisdom, sound judgment, strength and the sincerity of purpose required to discharge their responsibilities effectively. May their tenure bring progress to Lagos State and lasting benefits to its residents.

“The Muslim Community of Lagos State equally appreciates Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the appointments and expresses the hope that the new Permanent Secretaries will justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary leadership, professionalism and measurable contributions to the state’s development,” said the statement.
