Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, is back from his days of sick leave.

Oyo State Coordinator of the Muhammadu Buhari Osinbajo (MBO) Strategic Group and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaji Hammed AbdulAzeez Eleyele, announced this on his official Facebook handle on Tuesday.

Although he did not give details about the Ibadan politician’s health, a photograph he posted shows a now hail and hearty Ajimobi accompanied by one of his security guards and other aides.

Senator Ajimobi was, few days ago, reported in some online media (excluding The DEFENDER) to have died, a sad news that saw friends of the Ajimobi and Kola Animasaun families collapsing some of their social media platforms to prevent the Olori Ebi, Alhaja Modupe Kola Animasaun who is currently on a visit to United Kingdom, from seeing the sad news.

It turned out later to be a rumour carried too far by a section of Nigerian Press.

The DEFENDER was simply told by a source who said, “Ajimobi ‘wakes up’ again. That should shock the evil rumour mongers who wanted to plant sad news in our family but Allah shamed them. Thank you, our Journalist friend. You and your newspaper will rise in status and sad news will never be planted in your home”.

Ajimobi succeeded his cousin, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, as governor of Oyo State and was, himself, succeeded by Engr. Seyi Makinde the current governor.

He served Oyo State for consecutive terms between 2011 through 2019.

More lovers and friends have continued to congratulate him and his family. Among the well wishers was Abuja-based Alhaji Tajudeen Sheikh.
