JNI leadership participates in signing of Muslim–Christian Peace Agreement
The agreement is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two faith communities and encourage peaceful approaches to resolving issues that may arise in the course of their daily interactions.
The leadership of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) participated in a significant ceremony in Abuja marking the signing of a peace agreement between Muslims and Christians, aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and cooperation among the two faith communities.
As the umbrella body of Islamic organisations under the leadership of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, JNI’s participation underscores the organisation’s continued commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, interfaith understanding, unity, and social harmony among Nigerians, irrespective of religious differences.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment by Muslims and Christians to promote peace, mutual respect, tolerance, and harmonious relationships, while addressing matters of common concern through dialogue and peaceful engagement.
Representing the leadership of Jama’atu Nasril Islam at the occasion were the President-General of JNI, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, and the Secretary-General of JNI, Professor Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, alongside other representatives.
