Israel’s sky, land were in Iran’s hands, we targeted where we wanted from North to South – Qalibaf

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, made bold claims during a television interview, asserting Iran’s dominance in a recent 12-day conflict with Israel.

According to a report by Independent Persian on X on Friday, July 11, 2025, he declared that “Israel’s sky and land were in Iran’s hands. We targeted where we wanted, from north to south,” emphasizing that Iranian forces could strike any target across Israel, from its northern to southern regions.

Qalibaf further stated, “We established a Shahid Hemmat highway from Iran to Israel, enabling regular missile launches.”

These statements reflect Iran’s narrative of military superiority during the conflict, portraying a strategic corridor for sustained attacks.

However, these claims contrast sharply with reports of Israel’s military response.

The Israeli army, utilizing precision-guided drones and advanced F-35 fighter jets, conducted targeted strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure, including nuclear and weapons facilities.

These operations reportedly resulted in the deaths of over 30 commanders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps and key figures in its nuclear program.

Israel’s use of cutting-edge technology underscored its ability to penetrate Iranian defenses and inflict significant losses on critical assets, challenging Qalibaf’s portrayal of Iranian control.

Qalibaf’s assertions appear aimed at bolstering domestic support and projecting strength amid heightened tensions.

The reference to a “Shahid Hemmat highway” symbolizes a direct and continuous offensive capability, invoking the legacy of Shahid Hemmat, a revered figure in Iran’s missile program.

Yet, the reality on the ground suggests a more complex picture.

Israel’s precision strikes demonstrated its technological edge and intelligence capabilities, targeting high-value Iranian assets with minimal reported collateral damage.

This contrast raises questions about the extent of Iran’s operational success versus Israel’s ability to disrupt its adversary’s military and nuclear ambitions.

But insider revelations from Tel Aviv showed that, but the quick intervention of US President Donald Trump declaring abrupt ceasefire, Israel almost fell to the superior firepower of Iran.
