IRGC claims strike on US fifth fleet facilities in Bahrain

According to the statement, the targets included the US Navy’s command and control centre, a national security management centre, military equipment storage facilities, and fuel depots, which it claimed were “heavily struck and destroyed.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a major attack on United States military facilities in Bahrain, saying it targeted key installations linked to the US Fifth Fleet.

In a statement released by its public relations department, the IRGC alleged that the attack was carried out during the fifth wave of what it described as Operation Nasr-2, following what it called the deployment of US naval forces to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the statement, the targets included the US Navy’s command and control centre, a national security management centre, military equipment storage facilities, and fuel depots, which it claimed were “heavily struck and destroyed.”

The IRGC further accused the United States of disrupting global oil and gas exports by restricting maritime access through the Strait of Hormuz. It warned that if the region’s energy exports are blocked, other export routes could also be affected.

“The region’s oil and gas exports are either for everyone, or for no one,” the statement said.

The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate confirmation or response from US or Bahraini authorities at the time of filing this report. The development comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region over maritime security and energy supplies.
