As of Thursday night, the commission’s website listed Mark as national chairman and Aregbesola as national secretary.
Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has updated its records to recognise David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following a ruling by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The decision comes after the apex court, on April 30, 2026, dismissed a suit filed by Nafiu Bala Gombe and upheld Mark and Aregbesola as the duly recognised leaders of the party. The court also set aside an earlier order that had frozen the ADC leadership dispute and directed that related matters return to the Federal High Court.
INEC subsequently reflected the changes on its official register of political parties. As of Thursday night, the commission’s website listed Mark as national chairman and Aregbesola as national secretary.
Other officials include Mani Ahmad as national treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as national financial secretary, and Oserheimen Osunbor as national legal adviser.
The development is seen as a significant step in resolving the party’s internal leadership crisis ahead of the 2027 general elections.
