The Sultanate Council Sokoto has expressed dismay over the unfortunate happenings at the Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE) Sokoto, which led to the loss of life of a female student of the institution.

The DEFENDER reports that the female student, Deborah Yakubu, posted a voice note in her class WhatsApp group in which she blasphemed the Holy Prophet Muhammad leading to issues between her and her mates, as a result of which she lost her life.

Secretary to the Sultanate Council Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammadu Maccido, in a statement  he issued on Thursday copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER, said the Council “condemned the incident in its totality and has urged the security agencies to bring perpetrators of the unjustifiable incident to justice.”

Alhaji Maccido, who is Danburam Sokoto, said the Sultanate Council had also “urged all to remain calm and ensure peaceful co-existence among all people of the state and nation.”
