The crisis rocking the Rivers State took a new dimension, on Wednesday, as supporters and loyalists of former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, dumped him to back Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
They noted that the dumping of Wike became necessary because, according to them, the interest of one man cannot be greater than the interest of the overwhelming majority of Rivers people.
In a statement on his verified X account (Twitter), sighted by as reported by News Week Nigeria, a staunch supporter of the FCT Minister, Chris Ezihuo, popularly known as Topboychriss, reminded Nyesom Wike that when he was the governor, he taught them that no matter what happened, the interest of Rivers State must come first at all times.
Topboychriss wrote: “One man’s interest can not be greater than the interest of the overwhelming majority of Rivers people.
“When he was governor, he taught us that the interest of Rivers State must come first at all times. As good students of his political philosophy, we will abide by what we were taught.
“It’s been over a month, and the factional Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to the Minister can not give a single impeachable offense committed by the Governor of Rivers State.
“But for the timely intervention of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sim Fubara would have been impeached without committing any offense.

According to News Week Nigeria, the Ikwerre Local Government Chairman, Samuel Nwanosike, aka Ishi, has also abandoned Nyesom Wike and moved on to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s camp.
Recall that some Rivers State House of Assembly lawmakers loyal to Nyesom Wike led by the suspended speaker, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule, in an attempt to play to the political bidding of their political godfather, plot to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
