The media giving prominence to the Boko Haram’s claim was pointed out by some patriotic Nigerians as evidence that some media in Nigeria play role in how the war against terrorism and banditry in the country is yet ended.

Despite measures taken by Nigria’s government towards getting to the root of insecurity in the country which led to making National Identity Number registration compulsory for GSM and internet subscribers or they would get blocked, some ICT based media still freely disseminate information considered by many patriots to be aiding Boko Haram terrorists succeed in their evils against security agencies in the country.

This latest concern came following circulation of a video in which the devil agents lay claims to gunning down of Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet, which went off radar on Thursday, and has been declared mising since then by military authorities.

Some online media (excluding The DEFENDER) and social media handlers have reported, following update by the Nigerian Air Force on Friday suggesting that the jet might have crashed but was not specific, that Boko Haram shot down the plane.

The media giving prominence to the Boko Haram’s claim was pointed out by some patriotic Nigerians as evidence that some media in Nigeria play role in how the war against terrorism and banditry in the country is yet ended.

They are of strong views that terrorists’ major tool is when their evil actions are given prominence in the media but weakened when the media black them out but report actions of government and troops against them.

One of the Nigerians, who have spoken about the development, is Lauretta Onochie, the Digital and Social Media Aide to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic, Muhammadu Buhari.

In her tweet on Friday, Onochie said, “The @NigAirForce has dismissed Boko Haram’s claim of bringing down the missing fighter jet.” and went on to express dismay that, “The #HerdsMedia who are now #BokoHaramMedia, have freely disseminated the false claim” by the terrorists laying claim to downing the military jet.

“Whatever has happened, Our Prayers & thoughts are with the 2 missing pilots & with their families too,” the body language expert said.
