Governor Matawalle donates 450 motorcycles to 3 Labour Unions in Zamfara State

Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Muhammad Bello Matawalle, Thursday presented 450 motorcycles to four labour unions in fulfillment of an earlier promise to support all labour and trade unions in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed by Jamiu Iiyasu Birnin Magaji, Press Secretary to the Governor.

Beneficiaries of the Governor’s support include Amalgamated Motorcycle Association known as Kabu-kabu, who received 150 motorcycles, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, all Zamfara State chapters, who received 100 motorcycles each.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Director General of APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council in the state who represented the Governor, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Tafidan Kaura, said it was in effort to put smile in their faces.

“This was part of the efforts of Governor Bello Matawalle to put smile on the faces of members of the working class and other trade unions in order to boost their morale and productivity.”

He said the motorcycles were given to them free of charge as part of government’s commitment to meet the yearnings and aspirations of civil servants and commercial riders in Zamfara State.

The DG called on the benefitting associations to make best use of the motorcycles and rally round the Mutawalle administration for development of the state.

Speaking earlier, the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, said the motorcycles and other logistics support will continue to be given to different categories of workers, trade unions, and people of the state for them to appreciate the dividends of democracy.

In their vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, the State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Comrade Sanusi Isah Gusau and the Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT Comrade Maikano Sani Maru thanked the Governor for the gesture and assured to reciprocate by being more dedicated to their duties.
