Gov Yusuf joined by VP Shettima, Zamfara Gov Lawal in gracing Abacha’s wedding

The Executive Governor of Kano State was at the centre of attraction on Saturday as he bowed down in respect to the matriarch of the family of late General Sani Abacha, the former Military Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hajia Maryam Abacha, during the wedding of her son, Mustapha Abacha, and Safa Geidam.
The wedding on Saturday of Alhaji Mustapha Sani Abacha, son of the former Head of State, and Safa Tijjani Saleh Geidam, presented another sight of assured One North beyond the usual saying in South, where people want to say demystify politicians on claim “no permanent enemy but permanent interest in politics”.
On the other side of the divide, beyond politics, what is permanent to every Northerner is Northernism, that is unity of the North, side-by-side Islam, and, for this, Northerners are a strong force very hard to be split by any external political gerrymandering, and that was brought to fore at the Abacha and Geidam joint family wedding event on Saturday.
Although he has suffered betrayal by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, took to his X account to express his joy to be with its chieftain and Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the wedding where, officially, he looked more to be the chief host.
He was also glad that his brother and Zamfara counterpart, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, another opposite party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s member, was also at the all-important event to do the ever revered Abacha family its due honour.
“My pleasure to join the Vice President, H.E @KashimSM and my brother, H.E Dauda Lawal, the Governor of Zamfara State, alongside other esteemed individuals in witnessing the wedding ceremony of Alhaji Mustapha Sani Abacha, son of former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha and Safa Tijjani Saleh Geidam.
“The wedding solemnization took place at the Mohammed Ali Mosque, Old GRA, Maiduguri,” Governor Yusuf said.
He then congratulated the former First Ladsy.
“I congratulate Her Excellency, Hajiya Maryam Abacha and the family on this important day, Governkr Abba Kabir Yusuf popularly called AKY, said.
