It will be recalled the Muslim News late last year did an explosive report about similar incident in the same Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as well as in other Yoruba speaking states, whereby it said some Muslim sect members do “robbery marriage” through radicalisation, negative inductrination, brainwashing and instigation of innocent, minor girls against parents who sponsor them in tartiary institutions.”

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has condemned the rising trend of human trafficking in the country, calling it inhuman and unacceptable, saying anyone caught should face the full weight of the law.

The governor of Kwara State is horrified by the video footage of one Ms. Ajayi Omolola, who is a victim of human trafficking.Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Rafiu Ajakaye, in a statement Friday, reportedly said: “Omolola, whose parents live in the Kwara State capital, Ilorin, was tricked into travelling to Lebanon in the guise of engaging her as an English tutor. It turned out to be a case of human trafficking and slavery.“The governor condemns this development in the strongest terms possible and has immediately linked up with the security agencies to get to the roots of the matter. “We are glad to announce that three suspects, comprising two Nigerians and the Lebanese referred to in the footage, have been arrested in connection with the case and are being interrogated. The suspects are Wasit Muhammad, the Lebanese, one Olatunji Sanusi, a lawyer and one Tunde.“Apart from Ms. Ajayi, discreet investigations by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State have revealed that there are at least 28 other victims of this horrible trafficking gang.

“The case is soon to be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The governor Eis also linking up with relevant federal government and international agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to ensure that Ms. Ajayi and others are released from this human bondage.”

This was happening even as cases of religious sect taking faith to the extreme are now being recorded at alarming rate rate in Ilorin.

It will be recalled the Muslim News late last year did an explosive report about similar incident in the same Ilorin, the Kwara State capital as well as in other Yoruba speaking states, whereby it said some Muslim sect members do “robbery marriage” through radicalisation, negative inductrination, brainwashing and instigation of innocent, minor girls against parents who sponsor them in tartiary institutions.

One of such cases is being handled currently by Kwara State Police Command which it charged to court after having investigated, arrested a culprit in Kashif Abdulkareem, following petition by lawyer to the victim’s family, Barrister Jimoh Saliu.

While the court, a magistrate, adjourned the case that was filed on Wednesday December 11, 2019 to January 29, 2020 with a pronouncement that case of who should take custody of the rescued girl was not before it but with the police, the victim was taken to Welfare Home, which is under the charge of Kwara State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

The victim was taken to the Welfare Home in Ilorin because she could not recognise her parents due to the deep effect of the brainwash and instigation carried out on her by her inductrinators represented in her alleged abductor.

The DEFENDER’s investigation that the nature of the effort of the extremists is to instigate the innocent girls they are said to marry within their own circle without the consent of victims’ parents, by simply working on their psychology to say their parents are their enemies who do not want them to enter paradise.

“This particular case where the culprit was even talking about marriage, which in all facts before the police and public domain, he could not defend, was simply to coax the victim’s parents in attempt to legalise his illegality but he failed,” a source said, charging that the authorities including the Kwara State Government, Federal Government, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure that under no excuse should human trafficking by abduction, religious extremism, human export to foreign land by any element be allowed anywhere in Nigeria.
