Get me Turji, Defense Minister tells military forces in Zamfara

The Minister of Defence in Nigeria, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has charged the military officers in the north West zone to make it a point of duty to capture Bello Turji, leader of bandits terrorising the part of country, at all costs and eliminate all the bandits in the region.

The Minister made this charge while addressing officers of “Operation Fansan Yamma” of 1 Brigade Command in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, during an official visit on Thursday.

Badaru, who is on two days official visit to Zamfara State, said President Bola Tinubu is committed to eradicating banditry not only in the state but in the entire region to ensure that there is peace throughout the country.

He said President Tinubu was ready to provide all the requirements of the military and other security agencies to bring an end to the security challenges facing the nation.

He further said the military had assured him of doing their best to end banditry and ensure lasting peace in Nigeria.

The Defence Minister said he was in Zamfara to discuss with the military officers in the state and assure them about the readiness of President Tinubu to provide all the necessary requirements to enable them tackle insecurity, particularly the banditry and other security challenges in the country Zamfara and North West inclusive.

He reiterated that “Bello Turji must be brought to justice,” while assuring that very soon Nigeria would be very safe from any form of criminality .

The Minisrer further said that the major challenges facing the fight against banditry are with the informants and villagers harbouring the criminals in their respective communities.
