*As newly created 51-council structure takes off in Ondo State
*Osolo delighted Ondo on path to permanent peace, development
*The feat is commendable, says Iralepo, as Isinkan monarch urges speedy development

Finally, the much anticipated take off of the recently created and restructured 51 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in South Wedt Nigeria’s state of Ondo have happened.
The DEFENDER reports that Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), had earlier this year secured the approval of the state House of Assembly for 33 newly created LCDAs that he planned to operate alongside the existing 18 LGAs in his bid to further deep the course of grassroots development in the state.

In the new arrangement, three Councils were created out of Akure South to operate along with the existing Council now making Council from Old Akure South four namy; Akure West LCDA with Isinkan as its headquarters, Akure East LCDA, Oyemekun LCDA and the Akure South LGA.
Isolo, one of two prominent towns that shaped the traditional institution landscape all through 2022, remains as a major stake in Akure South Local Government while Isinkan, the second town, has successfully been upgraded to the status of a Council headquarters.
The greenlight for the take off of the new Local Government administrations followed the screening of nominees of Governor Akeredolu as chairmen of the councils, performed by the Ondo State House of Assembly, which was held on Tuesday November 28, 2023.
In the meantime, Honourable Gbenga Olaniyi has retained his seat having scaled the screening and thus confirmed as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, while Honourable Sunday Adejuyigbe a.k.a. Kekereowo made it as first man to govern Akure West Local Council Development Area as Chairman.
Hon Olaniyi and Hon Adejuyigbe will be sworn-in alongside other 48 Local governments and LCDA chairmen on Thursday November 30, 2023.
Reacting to the development, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole, Akesoogun Orisa Obaluaye Mosu, Osalade II, has described expansion of governing system at grassroots level as an indication of commitment to ensuring greater Ondo State.
He congratulated the incoming Chairman of the new Akure South Local Government, Honourable Gbenga Olaniyi who has only transmitted from old to new Akure LGA as boss.
The DEFENDER reports that the Osolo, who thanked Governor Akeredolu and members of csbinet over his two major rearragments namely chieftauncy and grassroots administration system with which he has restored normalcy to life in Ondo State, assured him that he and his fellow king, the Akapinsa of Ipinsa Land, will work amicably with other monarchs in the council in enduring security and peace of the state from their own level.
Reacting to the development, the Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, Arulewolasi III, thanked the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Members of the state executive Council and the state Lawmakers for making the creation of LCDAs in the state a reality.
He described Hon. Adejuyigbe as an administrator of repute and sagacious politician.
Oba Olofin-Adimula expressed confidence in his ability to bring about desired development in Akure West LCDA.
“We can count on his experience as a former Councillor and former Chairman of the state waste management authority. Moreso, he’s a son of the soil who knows how eager are we to make things happen in Isinkan. I have absolute confidence that he ‘ll do well.”
