Founder and Publisher, Vanguard Media Limited, Mr. Sam Amuka-Pemu, says the future of Journalism is Online.

Description of image

Fondly called Uncle Sam, the veteran journalist gave the observation while addressing a gathering of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGEs) which converged on Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for the Guild’s 2023 Annual Conference.

Amuka, who was Chairman of the occasion, emphasised that the online future of journalism he was referring to was already here.

While reminding the editors of their responsibility of holding government to account on behalf of the people, he urged them to beware of fake news which he said does not help the author and the intended victim.

Mr. Sam Amuka-Pemu also reminded the editors that, “Editing is knowing what to leave out.”

He, therefore, advised them to always toe the path of telling the truth in the course of their duties.
