“This opposition party has ever since then tried ways to discredit the Buhari government which, already by those brilliant achievements, went ahead to restore the good name of Nigeria in global community and every Nigerian now looked at as good person. There then came resurgence whereby 80 percent of crimes in each foreign land would be Nigerians and sometimes of particular tribe that the PDP work with locally in the name of plotting secession and all that is negative,” concerned Nigerian said.

The Nigeria’s Presidency has exposed grand plans by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to tarnish and rubbish the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The presidency said as part of this overall scheme, the PDP, with its belligerent politics, had been marching from one embassy to the other in protest against the Buhari’s administration and the nation’s highest court of justice, the Supreme Court.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in a statement made this known on Saturday.

He said, “They are keen to give the impression that Nigerians are in support of them as they take to the streets, and they will go to any length to promote this false narrative.

“The recent incident in Maiduguri, Borno State, where an overwhelmingly cheering crowd gathered to welcome President Buhari, while a handful were recorded booing him, is a part this elaborate scheme. It is misleading, as some analysts have tried to do, to read this as verdict against President Buhari, who emerged winner with 94 per cent of the votes cast in the Presidential election in the state in February last year.

“This was clearly a hired few, but the news was promoted by the opposition who had of course positioned themselves to record the booing – all just to embarrass the President.”

Shehu also cautioned a section of the political class against misleading the public and inciting protests against the heads of military institutions.

He said this had become necessary in view of received reports that about two thousand men and women had been hired to demonstrate against Nigeria’s service chiefs on Monday.

“This imminent gathering is the latest in a series of demonstrations orchestrated by the opposition to embarrass the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We urge the media to remain unbiased and discerning in their reporting, instead of becoming unwitting tools in the hands of the opposition.

“A group of politicians and beneficiaries of the Boko Haram insurgency is right now paying for people to join their planned protest against our country’s service chiefs, and they will no doubt seek the media’s collaboration on this as usual.

“But there is news and there is promoted content – two very different things, one of which should never make the headlines as these recent fake protests have done,” he said.

Some concerned Nigerians are in the meantime asking if they are not now vindicated that there are some Nigerians who benefited from backwardness of the country and therefore would not support any positive change that ant serious administration would bring.

One of them particularly said, “Why should PDP, in whatever guise, still have a single man following it if not because many Nigerians have endemic corruption well seated in their minds?”

He said, “It is absurd that these PDP politicians, because they match to foreign embassies to tell the world how Buhari government is responsible for insecurity they sponsor to tarnish the administration, to think that any serious foreign country will believe them except one that does not wish Nigeria well.

“If you have been following this trend, the PDP was challenged that under right months Buhari took back all territories captured by Boko Haram, silenced all agents of insecurity particularly Shekau and equipped the military with modern day equipment with good salary scale and welfare package. Buhari then went ahead and rescued over 110 of 247 Chibok schoolgirls PDP corruption caused their abduction by Shekau-led Boko Haram.  Recall under PDP, money for doing these was shared into individual leaders and members’ pockets.

“This opposition party has ever since then tried ways to discredit the Buhari government which, already by those brilliant achievements, went ahead to restore the good name of Nigeria in global community and every Nigerian now looked at as good person. There then came resurgence whereby 80 percent of crimes in each foreign land would be Nigerians and sometimes of particular tribe that the PDP work with locally in the name of plotting secession and all that is negative. One begins to sense foul play how PDP tried hard to destroy Nigeria’s restored good image just because of lust for power.

“They then went on with false claims of dictatorship using America that would only celebrate Nigeria in situation of woes as destination of complaints, especially under Donald Trump. So much that Nnamdi Kanu and Omoyele Sowore even Shiites; the readings on the wall about all of these anti-nation struggles, are of PDP.

“Next is sudden resurgence of Boko Haram which now has multi-dimentional causes. If you look at the francophone angle whereby Chad pulled out from the multi-national task force to end Boko Haram and resurgence coming from area bordering the two countries, you will see the skin of Esau but voice of Jacob in the suddenly resumed terrorism and Shekau’s video coming up again especially when you even consider how a religious group tried to dudge identity of a recently arrested suspected bomber in Kaduna.

“If you also see the role of religion as obvious in activities of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with PDP, Amnesty International and the way the political elites are using these religious and ethnic leaders, well paid I suppose, to cause chaos through hate speeches, fake news and efforts towards divisibility and the deliberate attempt to misrepresent the killings and politicise security in the country, you will understand that all is not as bad as is being painted under Buhari,” the concerned Nigerian said.
