It is not in doubt that elements working hard to break up Nigeria using the device of setting the hitherto peace people against themselves ethnically and religiously are in for the Nigeuan Army and the Department of State Services.  Little wonder, therefore, each time they are pushed to the wall by self conscience now fearing the consequences of their actions are inevitably dawning on them, they preempt the security forces and intelligence agency by wanting to blackmail them with intent to weaken their will to act.

This, many that refuse to agree with Sunday Igboho over his recent actions against the Nigerian citizens of Hausa-Fulani extractions living in Oyo State say, explains the news of his purported arrest in Ibadan on Friday.

Although the DSS has denied the reported arrest, saying there is no iota of truth in it, those who believe the government and its security agencies have allowed too much elasticity for such elements are asking to know is “What if the DSS did?  They have complained that government and security agencies have left the likes of Igboho, Omoyele Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu, Obadiah Mailafiya, Femi Fani-Kayode and Sheikh Ahmed Gumi on for too long that they now grow wings.

File: Sunday Igboho poses here with his security guards. Who provided him this?

“If they do not grow, how did they do it that they not only killed your soldiers, DSS personnel, police officers and men innocent citizens but in the name of doing #EndSARS protests but also they now go to the extent that they have graduated – from mere usage of social media along with their main media collaborators to break and spread fake news and hate, with intent to cause conflicts in the land – to now actually moving to the trenches killing innocent Nigerians under the pretext that they are fighting for their people and to settle scores with government,” one of them said under condition of anonymity to The DEFENDER Friday night in an interview shortly after the DSS refutation.

In a one-paragraph statement issued by Public Relations Officer of the nation’s secret agency, Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS had asked members of the public to take the news attempted arrest of Sunday Igboho as fake and so disregard it.

“The Department of State Services wishes to refute the news that it attempted to arrest one Sunday Igboho, today, at Ibadan, Oyo State. The said news is misinforming and should taken as fake and therefore be disregarded,” Dr. Afunanya said.

House of Sariki Fulani of Oyo State, Alhaji Salisu AbdulKadir, burned down by Sunday Igboho, on Friday 22 January 2021.

It will be recalled Sunday Igboho issued quit notice to Fulani living in Oyo State and, by extension, Yoruba Land saying they were responsible for the kidnapping and killing of Yoruba people with intent to take over their land.

As a result, he led a war to attack the Sariki Fulani of Oyo State, Alhaji Salihu AbdulKadir, killing his people including his only brother while his cows were rustled and looted.

Igboho and his believers justified the act as defending his Yoruba people from kidnapping and killing by Fulani herdsmen naming Ekiti oil magnate, Sulaiman Akinbami, America-based Dennis Abuda, Fatso Aborode and Professor Wole Soyinka as major victims of Fulani herdsmen necessitating his attack in the Sariki Fulani burning down his house, cars and killing some of his cows.

However, the Ekiti victim, Akinbami, has since granted PUNCH an interview during which he said those that kidnapped him were YORUBA and not Fulani herdsmen.

Arrest and confessions of suspects that kidnapped the Prince Abuda showed that they were the usual criminal gangs in Edo who were responsible for kidnapping and subsequent death of the United States based Edo prince.

On Aborode, the Chief Security Officer of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde, has made a public declaration that Fulani herdsmen were not responsible his death but that he was killed in circumstances of political evil mindedness.

On Wole Soyinka, from the revelations by Agunloye and first son of the Professor, Fulani herdsmen did not invade his father’s house to kill him, neither did they carry out any untowards activities to suggest what was reported by clearly stated Koiki Media.

In our findings, it was gathered that Koiki is Sunday Igboho’s new spokesman. It was not however clear yet if his own Koiki owns the media platform that broke the dangerous news that would have ignited unpredictable crisis in Ogun State.

It will be recalled that The DEFENDER broke the news about how the cows that strayed into the unfenced bush area home of the Nobel Laureate were owned by Yoruba man in same town. The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) raised the point of order and Ogun State Police Command confirmed it in a statement it sent to The DEFENDER same day.

It has been tradition for this digital media to keep reminding Nigerians about security alert long ago about how terrorists of Boko Haram we’re switching from one devised means to another having been through with wearing hijab to carryout bombing against inocent targets in a way, Sunday Igboho has done, that set Nigeria’s Christians against the Muslims at a time all Muslims were tagged terrorists – President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Samson Ayokunu, still repeated this tagging recently until now loud voices of Muslim Ummah educated, enlightened him and his association and pushed it down for him.

The security alert coming from military intelligence that time prepared the mind if the people fie what to come, saying terrorists had devised the means to disguise like cattle rearers and use that to carry out attacks in Nigerians.

One of our respondents recently accused the media of deliberately failing to emphasize security guidelines and remind people if the past for them to watch their present so as to plan a better future, as far, according to him, as the yet-to-end security issues in the country are concerned.

He said the security situation is like this because, when the problem that has been bedeviling the North East since 2009 now spread across the North West and is now in the South West, “two things happen: people see that those in the bushes are Fulani and that failure of President Buhari to act against them means he is backing them because they are his tribesmen. Secondly, the Yoruba people of South West were erroneously led by existing secessionist elements to do ethnic ethnic and religious profiling of those terrorists, who use kidnapping as means to raise money to sustain themselves although they don’t know Islam.”

He continued that, “Another misunderstood area is herders/farmers clashes that we all know and have lived with for ages. But the Fulani that we know have compound and leaders who we reported those that destroyed our farms to and they ordered for compensation while they warned and promised it would not happen again. That was how it had been with us until these killers herdsmen came. But the criminals that terroriser our farms now are more like the terrorists being said not the ones we know.

“Again, criminals who hide under the herders/farmers clashes to do kidnappings and killings cut cross the tribes in the country. Same thing in Igbo Land where Nnamdi Kanu is leading the evil and using his Radio Biafra to broadcast fake news and hate leading to crisis in the region. They are Hausa-Fulani, Yoruba and Igbo. This is where Sunday Igboho’s mission crashed because no one fights an ethnic war, profiling a single race as criminal and enemy of the rest of the tribes, ends well It is injustice and somebody must pay for it. What if it is other way round? What would the South West concentrated media have done if not to let heavens loose on us all?

“It is not done because, there is no tribe that doesn’t have its bad eggs. Igboho fooled everybody to make them believe him that only Northerners are criminals and that most of the crimes committed against Yoruba on their own soul are Hausa-Fulani whereas, reports from security and some sincere media organisations lately have proved them wrong. This is where Sunday Igboho will have problems because who will now pay for crimes against Sariki Fulani AbdulKadir now that it is clear Igboho, who vomited those arsons, murder and lootings misfired? He asked.
