To the chagrin of many sane citizens when the Federal Government began to heed the calls to end insecurity in South East, virtually all vocal and people that matter in the region rose in support of criminalities and killings by terrorist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and some of the professionals including lawyers and journalists from the area.
Where lawyers especially the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) stood by Twitter when the Federal Government banned its operations for allowing IPOB’s destructive and war inciting videos, audios and texts being posted on its handle to continue to run while deleting tweets by the symbol of Nigeria’s sovereignty President Muhammadu Buhari, which were only mainly warning the agents of destruction, the only time CAN would speak about the insecurity in the region when government’s security agents began to pound the terrorists it said security operatives were carrying out “indiscriminate killing of Igbo youths”.
The security agents were actually raiding identified camps of terrorists in parts of the South East during which more dangerous weapons and ammunition were recovered while those criminal elements were also killed for having killed Army officers and soldiers in ambush, killing officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and setting police station on fire and not prepared to cease the criminalities.
Although, we gathered that, there is quite a number of good-minded Igbo people who are together with Nigeria Government and other Nigerians in the fight against insecurity in parts of Nigeria including that of their own region, the fact that those that are loudly heard from the region support all evils against the country and other regions remains a serious image issue for the Igbo Land in the Nigeria Project, yet the entity of Nigeria was long sealed to indivisible and indissoluble.
Another aspect that is shocking in the scenario is where some of the elites in the region are seen to be part of the cause of the insecurity. Senator Eyinnaya Aberibe, we learned for instance, aided the escape of Nnamdi Kanu from his treason trials in Nigeria to now stay with external conspirators abroad who are funding him to destroy his own country that he calls the Zoo, using his falsehood based Radio Biafra, Twitter and Facebook handles in spreading fake news in ways that have instigated killings of many lives in South East and South West, which to the more surprise of many, members of the Nigerian Press bought and reported thereby heating up the polity.
This Senator is fully aware of his role in the Kanu’s escape although some hints have reminded how his character in that manner led to why he was impeached severally as deputy governor of his state before he eventually made it to becoming a senator of the same Nigeria he has helped wage war against. Sadly too, we learned further, he has been at the forefront of offensive against President Muhammadu Buhari to call him a “failed” and “incompetent” President, “yet he and his co-travelers, if the Igbo elites know what is good for them, are better such called,” an angry citizen submitted.
Our investigations revealed that Igbo elites were part of the calls on President Buhari to end insecurity in parts of Nigeria or resign. “They saw the insecurity in their own region of the South East and they knew who were responsible. They saw the hands of Abaribe so clearly. They saw the tool as Nnamdi Kanu, his IPOB and ESN. The governors, with their going back and forth, know. Even the Governor of Imo, Senator Hope Uzodinma, exonerated IPOB saying the killings and burning of police stations in his state has nothing to do with them just to be able to shift all the insecurity on one person, Rochas Okorocha, who may have got his own issue too. But the capacity to collectively stand against evils is lacking among major Igbo people, which makes it look like no one is to be excused although there are many of them who are excusable from the problem.” He said.
He continued that, “One of the questions they ask is that, ‘Why is it now that the government is moving against Igbo youths if it is sincere that he is not fighting Igbo race? The energy it is dissipating into fighting in the South East, it should have invested it in fighting the Boko Haram in the North East. Those Boko Haram and bandits arrested, they keep releasing them daily. But it is easier for them to come down to the South East and continue their injustice fighting the Igbo youths,” this is one of the comments they have raised that is destroying the mindset of the people and making them form wrong notions against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, he said.
To many of the uninformed Igbo, like those who are informed but operate with level of hate in them, the North is their problem and they would never cooperate, no matter what form of solution being embarked upon, he added.
Per adventure in effort to clear their minds about these wrong notions, comments credited to a police source said:
“My Friends, These are some of the Bandits, Boko Haram Terrorist and other criminals we arrested. None of them have been released. If those keyboard warriors and Sympathizers of Criminals spreading False News that Bandits are not being arrested have any Evidence that one of the hundreds of arrested Bandits Shown above is released or Given Amnesty they should show the world pls.
“We are arresting Criminals and killers from all parts of the Country, in-fact as you can see above the Overwhelming Majority of Killers and criminals we arrested in Nigeria today are the Bandits and Boko Haram.
“Our teams are all across the country fighting criminals and killers and we all know with Nigerian population today and Ratio of 1 policeman to 700 Nigerians we can’t stop all crimes at once.
“But good Nigerians know with the Pictorial Evidence above and very limited Resources at our disposal, We are doing well with our small Unit IRT which is a Very small fraction of the Nigeria Police.
“I have received more than 100 threats from Boko Haram, Bandits, Kidnappers,Armed Robbers and other Criminals. We have Sworn to depend our Country against all evils. We will never relent.
“Boko Haram, Bandits, IPOB, Keyboard Warriors and their Sympathizers can continue wasting their time with threats and blackmails, it can’t work. All the Security agencies will never relent and all the Criminals and killers across the country will be defeated Soonest by GOD’s Grace.
