FLASH BACK: General Minimah, Chief of Army Staff, I am okay by this (29/11/2014)

Brigadier General Adamu Mama Dauda, middle, being decorated by the Commandant, Nigerian Army Ordnance Corp, HQ, Major General Adekunle Abdullahi Martins, assisted by his wife, Mrs Grace Dauda.

As the Nigerian Armed Forces boost the morale of officers through deserved promotions, I implore my daily increasing reading public to join me in CONGRATULATING these newly uplifted officers, who were promoted from colonel to generalship of brigadier.

I must give it to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah, who, at one event I attended and reported in Lagos, promised to transform the Army by encouraging officers and personnel, not only to perform their duties as soldiers but also, to feel good and proud of themselves as members of the Nigerian Army community. General Minimah said, however, that his transformation drive in the Army, which included making the Army sew its uniforms by itself through its Nigerian Army Ordnance Tailoring Factory, was his own contribution to the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan. This new promotion, to me, means that General Minimah is a man and officer of his word.

Major General Martins, left, and Brigadier General Elendu, exchanging compliments after decoration.

The promotions, which were also done to officers in other corps of the Army, also took place in the other arms of the military e.g. Nigerian Navy.

To both new Generals, I say congratulations!
