Vibrant and amiable Edtor of Vanguard Newspapers, Mr. Eze Anaba’s election as new President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has attracted commendation from The DEFENDER Newspaper Advisory Board.

This was as President of the Board, AIG Mu’azu Idris Hadejia (Rtd), congratulated him on his election victory at the Guild’s Biennial Convention held in Owerri, Imo State, on June 16, 2023.

AIG Hadejia, who is currently in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, sent in the congratulatory message on Thursday.

Describing Mr. Anaba as an enviable platform on which many have climbed to the top in journalism practice, the former AIG Works Nigerian Police Force, saw his rise to the Presidency of Nigerian Guild of Editors as one that is not only commendable but also worthy of celebration by all that have value for quality service to nation building the journalism way.

AIG Idris Hadejia (North West) is supported on the Advisory Board of The DEFENDER Newspaper by former AIG Zone 10 Nigerian Police Force, AIG Mohammed Mustafa (Rtd) (North East); former Minister of Communications and General Officer Commanding Three Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd) (South West); former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mallam Yakubu Ibn Muhammad (North East); erudite constitutional lawyer, Mallam Yusuf Alli (SAN) (North Central); Human Resources expert, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi (North Central) and MD/Editor-in-Chief, Defender Media Limited, Prince Bashir Adefaka (South West).

Before Anaba, others like Mallam Garba Shehu, Mr. Gbenga Adefaye and Dr. Femi Adesina had been President of the  Nigerian Guild of Editors. By his election in Owerri, he succeeds Mr. Mustapha Isa of the Silverbird Television.
