“As someone conversant with the operation, and having privileged information regarding the Super Camp 4, I knew that it is only a matter of days before naysayers will be silenced. The loud noise against the Nigerian Army in the North West was just a dust that must settle for the truth.”

One of the greatest satirist of all time, Mark Twain once ask “what do you speak so loudly that we can’t hear?”

This typically describes the discordant tunes of those who struggle every time to criticize, castigate and dismissed the Nigerian army noble Super Camp Concept Strategy and tactics of war ingeniously initiated and institutionalized in the Nigerian Army by the forsighted army chief Lt Gen TY Buratai. The concept of Super Camp is indeed one of the most beneficial contemporary war strategies in Nigeria and west Africa as a whole. The recently flagged off Exercise SAHEL SANITY and the establishment of Army Special Super Camp 4 Faskari Katsina State is so far – double steps in the right direction. While some unrepentant subjective critics have (since the day the Exercise was flagged off) opined that Exercise SAHEL SANITY is a failure, and will never bread any success. The louder they speak against the truth, the less we hear them.

I have always known that only truth will stand the test of time. The truth about the effectiveness of the Super Camp 4 at Faskari, in Katsina state can no longer be swept under the carpet.

In the last five days, about five state governors from the North have visited Army Special Super Camp Faskari to ascertain for themselves if the report of the successes of the Super Camp/Ex SAHEL SANITY is indeed true. This is a follow up to the series of security meetings the governors had with the president and Commander – in – Chief President Muhammadu Buhari.

I have followed with keen interest to hear if more voices will controvert what the governors of Katsina, Kaduna and Niger States said about the security situation in the North West, in particular the activities of banditry in Katsina and Zamfara states.

As someone conversant with the operation, and having privileged information regarding the Super Camp 4, I knew that it is only a matter of days before naysayers will be silenced.

The loud noise against the Nigerian Army in the North West was just a dust that must settle for the truth. Ironically, most people who dismissed the efforts of the Nigerian Army initially with a wave of hand and create panic through hyper emphasis on the negatives, have not even visited the areas affected.

It is refreshing to hear the host governors, Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state and Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state expressing satisfaction with the onslaught against banditry and the improvement in the security situation largely due to the efforts and successes recorded by troops of the Super Camp 4, Exercise SAHEL SANITY/HADARIN DAJI.

In the same manner, governors Aminu Bello Masari, Sani Abubakar Bello and Mallam Nasir Elrufai while on a visit to ascertain the successes of Operation SAHEL SANITY at the Super Camp 4, Faskari, commended the Nigerian Army….?

The Super Camp 4/ Exercise SAHEL SANITY is yielding tremendous positive results and they requested that such strategy should be expanded to cover the entire North West.

The Northern governors were hitherto, worried about the economic impact insecurity will have on the region as farming activities was halted. This trend has however been reversed as farmers have gone back to their farming activities and expecting bumper harvest. This fact was reiterated by governor Nasiru Elrufai who said as they drove along in company of his colleague from kaduna, they were excited about the green fields in Katsina and parts of Kaduna states.

For the lovers of a peaceful Nigeria, we are excited and indebted to the Nigerian Army and all the security agencies for their sacrifices and gallantry. As they toil day and night to keep us safe, through all the dangers and horrible experiences, we are with them in prayers and supplications. We hope and pray that peace will prevail all over Nigeria against the wishes of the enemies of nation.
