Former Military Governor of Ondo State, Colonel Moses Fasanya, has described the incessant shedding of innocent blood in parts of Nigeria as evil and unfortunate.
Fasanya, in a short message to The DEFENDER on Monday, noted that Nigeria needed the mercy of God even as he said for the spread of evil in the society, the leaders and the led must have themselves to blame.
“Nigeria, as a nation needs mercy of God, the leaders and the led are guilty. The unceasing flow of the blood of helpless Nigerians is a great abomination. Do we fear God in this nation?”
The retired military officer lauded the The DEFENDER Online Media and urged the management to keep up the good job.
On media giving groups categorised as terrorist by Nigerian courts still being allowed relevance by the media, the former governor said, “The Fourth Estate of the Realm in its arduous task of reporting should be partner in progress with the Government.”
Moses Fasanya, an Ibadan, Oyo State indigene, served as Military Administrator of Abia State between August 1996 – August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha.
He was later moved to become the Military Governor of Ondo State in August 1998 where he became the last man in uniform that handed over power to the civilian Governor Adebayo Adefarati on May 29, 1999 and was retired by the Civilian Administration of Olusegun Obasanjo, when in 1999 he came up with policy to sack any military officer that had ever served in political office.
