The incessant cases of invasions and denials being reported against the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, despite what was believed to be lasting solution by Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN) to age-long Obaship tussle in Akure South Local Government Area f the state have been described as unfortunate.

This was coming as, again, the Iralepo of Isinkan Kingdom in the local government, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, alleged that the Deji of arresting workers on his father’s farmland with thugs and security men described as wearing the uniform of men of the Amotekun Corps.

The Isinkan monarch said the thugs and, allegedly, men of Amotekun corps said to be attached to the Deji’s palace, armed with guns and other dangerous weapons, on Tuesday December 20, 2022, arrested the workers who were clearing the farmland.

“The farmland situated at Ajegunle Aponmu mile 13, Ondo road in Isinkan belongs to Iralepo and that was where my great grandfather, my father were farming.

“Suddenly this morning when workers were clearing the land, some thugs with the support of these Amotekun officers stormed the site and stopped the workers from working and arrested them.

“They were taken to the palace of the Deji in Akure where they were tortured and warned not to go back there.

“The Deji is taking our gentility for cowardliness. I can’t imagine myself going to Alayere claiming ownership and disrupting peace,” the lawyer-king said.

He added that, “We had petitioned the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, the state commissioner of police and other security agencies on the matter.

“We appeal to Mr. Governor to direct that these individuals that were soiling the good name and glorious image of the Amotekun corp be fished out and sanctioned,” Oba Iralepo said.

The royal father appealed to the state government and security agencies to wade into the matter before it gets out of hands.

Oba Olofin-Adimula said a fact finding committee with neutral people of high integrity should be put in place to determine the customary claims of the Deji of Akure and the Iralepo of Isinkan Land.

He said Deji had invaded his land, installed 14 Olus and sold pieces of land worth over a billion naira.

“We have exhausted our patience and I may not guarantee peace again with the restiveness exhibited by the youths of Isinkan over this modern day insults on their land and tradition. Enough is enough,” the Iralepo cried out.

It will be recalled that not too long ago, the sane Deji was reported to have invaded villages under the domain of Iralepo of Isinkan Land, not only installing what was called his own illegal Olus” but also instigating them not to have anything to do with the rightful authority over the villages, Iralepo.

The Deji denied invasion but confirmed the Isinkan monarch’s claims when he admitted visiting the “illegal” Olus.

In the meantime, some apparently angry members of Isinkan are saying the attitude of the Deji is affront, not only to the Ondo State Government, which has consistently warned that under no circumstances should any traditional ruler in the state trespass or extend his authority beyond his own domain in a way that encroaches on domain of others.

One of them who declined identity said, “This tactics of invasion knowing full well that he will not be bold enough to own up to it in the face of higher authorities is a new method of causing confusion in the land after having failed all attempt to rewrite the traditional rulership history of some towns in the Akure South Local Government Area.

“But the Deji needs to be told that government is very powerful and so should stop trying to demolish the peace and security building that Governor Akeredolu’s Administration has successfully erected,” he said.

Expectedly, the government’s action on the petition will open reactions of the Deji to the allegation as direct WhatsApp to the Akure monarch was not replied as at the time of filing this report.
