The National Youth Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Dayo Israel, has powered homes and streets across Lagos Mainland using solar energy under his Household Renewable Energy Solution initiative.

The initiative, we learned, is aimed at bridging energy gap in the state and improving communal safety and security.

Hon. Israel, whose leadership of the youth wing of APC has been making resounding progressives with unprecedented landmarks, distributed free home solar systems capable of powering basic appliances to at least 100 households in the mainland area of Lagos, an effort widely commended to have provided critical energy access to families with the attendant improvement in household living standards.

In the same vein, streets and communities in Ebute Metta East including Kano Street, Osholake, Jebba, Odunfa, etc. received solar street lighting system provided by the Rural Electrification Agency as facilitated by the National Youth Leader.

Dayo Israel said the intervention was done to complement the efforts of the government at the time “energy has become essential to productivity, empowerment, and the security of citizens.”

“Our hope is that with the home solar systems, schoolchildren living in the residences that benefited from the first phase can study for longer and improve their academic performance, wives and mothers can trade in their front stalls for longer hours and derive greater profit, and basic devices remain powered and active for productive utilization.”

“We also hope that the communities that received the solar-powered street lights can operate longer business hours and enjoy better security and safety, particularly at night when criminal elements, under the cover of the dark, seek to perpetrate evil.”

He encouraged support for the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, noting his significant contributions to the development of the state.

“We are following the admirable example of our Governor and leader, Babajide Sanwoolu who has taken Lagos to a completely different level in terms of leadership and performance. Our engagement with Lagosians has remained consistent and robust as we rally support for his re-election in 2023. We are fortunate that he has made the job easy with his records and achievements. Even the worst critics concede that Jide has delivered for the people of Lagos,” Dayo Israel said.
