The Da’awa Coordination Council of Nigeria (DCCN), an Islamic propagation body has urged Muslim Youth to remain law abiding and avoid any thing that will distract the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, the National President of DCCN, made the remarks at a press conference in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Maidoki expressed DCCN’s concern over the happenings in relation to actions targeted at tarnishing the image of Islamic religion in France.

He said that the attack on Islam in France has continued to remain a usual process stressing that at this time the action was directly attacking the personality of the noble Prophet Muhammad, Peace be Upon Him.

“In deed this attack which was started by a French magazine Charley Hebdo, is not only to trigger unnecessary fresh bloodshed in France but targeted the whole World.

“As Muslims we are not only most sensitive to the sanctity of human life, but also thought to respect other people’s dignity.

“This is in addition to preaching that Islam is always a religion of peace, brotherhood and harmony globally,” he said.

He said this in a situation whereby a sitting President of a country like France, which colonized some Muslim countries and still claiming to be protecting them, “But the President can come out and make a pronouncement supporting and insulting the personality of the Prophet and declaring Muslims as terrorist.

“This is not only an issue of concern but intolerable and unacceptable by all Muslims in the whole World,” Maidoki said.

The DCCN President challenged analyst and opinion leaders to tell the whole World between the Muslims who are declared terrorists and the France government the actual terrorist.

“Please tell us who are the terrorist, is it the innocent children, displaced persons and migrants who were chased out of there countries and homes? Or those who chased them out and killed so many of them?

“History is still documented, was it not France that massacred over 400,000 Islamic scholars by slaughtering them during colonisation of Chad Republic, they cut their heads and deposited them in their museum.

“Is it not the same France who’s leader accused Islam of terrorism, that massacred over 10 million people in Algeria as documented by a popular French historian Jack Jorkie.

“Where are the human right watch and activist, is this not a violation of human rights. Are the perpetrators of this heinous act of inhumanity you recognized as developed society,” he added.

Maidoki further facilitated with the Sultan of Sokoto and the President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar for his 14th anniversary on the throne.
