The mission on the orbital outpost will last for about six months

The US company SpaceX on Wednesday launched a carrier rocket with the spacecraft Crew Dragon, which will deliver a crew of four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). The event’s video is streamed on the website of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The Falcon 9 launch vehicle blasted off from Cape Canaveral (Florida) at 03:55 US East Coast time (10:55 Moscow time).

The crew of the spacecraft called Freedom consists of NASA’s astronauts Kjell Lindgren, Robert Hines and Jessica Watkins, as well as the European Space Agency’s Samantha Cristoforetti, of Italy.

Their mission on the orbital outpost will last for about six months, during which time they will conduct more than 200 research experiments. TASS
